Here we go!

Practice meet for the girls against Cy Creek and Klein Forest is still on for Thursday at College Park.  If the rings are not to wet will throw both the shot and discus.  Vaulters will be vaulting but will stop regardless of outcome will stop when the 300 hurdles begin so they can start packing up and getting ready to run the mile relay.  Due to the cold weather we have adjusted the running schedule.  We hope to start by 4:00 with the 1600 meter run, followed by the 100 meter hurdles.  The hurdles races will be a little different with each girl running a different number of hurdles determined by their coach.  After the hurdles we will run the 600 meter dash, followed by the 200 meter dash.  The 300 hurdles will be the same as the 100 hurdles with each girl running  a different number of hurdles.  We will conclude with the mile relay. Most of the girls will running in a mile relay – right now we will be running 9 different teams.  Good luck to all, compete your booty off and here we go!

Getting things started

I am very excited and  anxious to start the 2011 season!  With the addtion of Kingwood and Attascocita into 14-5A, our District Meet will be the most competitive it has been since College Park opened.   We have finished 2nd the last two seasons and our goal this season is to capture our first District title.

”The only difference between ordianary and extraordinary is a little extra.”    Our motto this year is: Extra!   Let’s all do a little extra to help reach our goal of winning our first District Championship.

A lot of girls are already doing a little extra;  such as coming to workout on their own after finals, or showing up this week at 3:00 for our regular workout when its cold and windy.

Here are some other “extra” things being done are by some of the girls that will help us be extraordinary this season!

Jr. Amber Calvert learning how to 3 step so she can excell in the 100H

Sr. Brooke Paulsen learing how to hurdle

Juniors, Courtnee Moore and Chris Witt both sprinters learning how to throw shot & discus

Soph. Cheyenne Turks learning how to throw the discus

We all need to continue to encourage those we know that are not here yet to come on out – they might be that little extra we need to get us over the hump!

Don’t forget about the endless relay on Jan 29th – we are asking the girls to sign up and be here at least 2 hours and to collect at least $100 each.
